Was an uneventful day. Taught at two elementary schools: Toyokanbetsu and Usotan. Went over animal names at the 豊寒別小学校 – Toyokanbetsu Elementary School- and the kids picked them up really quickly. At 宇曽丹小学校, we enacted the scene so expertly drawn out by Juko-sensei to much laughter. Ended the lesson with the kids cutting out American paper coins, meanwhile I made origami paper wallets and hats.
Back at the 浜頓別町役場, things were quiet. Was particularly fun when I found out this upcoming weekend’s office retreat I am pretty I already contributed $30 to, and thought was all paid off, in fact will require $140 more dollars on Thursday.
Excellent.
Anyway, wasn’t sure what I was going to blog about, as I headed to Taiko practice. Thankfully I didn’t have to wait five minutes for Chris told me I looked like some sort of fisherman with my beard, turtleneck and beanie.
He then asked his charming wife her opinion, to which Ayla replied with the title of this post without a second’s hesitation. Was not the first time I’ve been told I dress like a homeless person, though I prefer to describe my style as: hobo chique.
The technical definition being cheap, old, loose and comfortable hand-me-down clothing, which is most importantly functional.
That said, I feel these pictures show that tonight I looked like at least a billion $ away from a homeless person.
Anyone who knows my mother, knows I get all of my fashion sensibilities from her.

EDITOR’S NOTES:
- Changed the blog design around slightly after I noticed it was loading incredibly slow on some computers and incorrectly on internet explorer at times. Would appreciate letting me know what you think, and if you have any problems/suggestions in the comments.
- Remembered the first three lines of Hiragana for the first time tonight, making slow progress on Alex’s challenge. Any thoughts on what I should make him do once I succeed would be appreciated.

Charlie: The new blog design is okay. I liked the old one, but of course I was used to it. Your beard is different. It makes a new you. I like it. Take care. Love ya!
